Congressman Graves On FAA Authorization Holdup

A reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration is languishing in the U-S Senate after breezing to passage in the House.

Northern Missouri Congressman Sam Graves says the FAA bill won unanimous approval in committee and passed on a 351-to-69 vote in the House.

Graves, a Republican, says a turf war has broken out in the Senate over the two airports in Washington, DC…and two airlines. Graves says Delta Airlines wants to lift restrictions on flights out of Reagan Airport while American Airlines opposes the move in an effort to protect its hub at Dulles Airport.

The FAA reauthorization measure must be passed by September 30th.
