Construction Set to Resume on I-29 Bridge Projects in Andrew County

Construction is scheduled to resume next week on the Interstate 29 bridge projects in Andrew County, north of St. Joseph.

The project to replace the north and southbound I-29 bridges over Hopkins Creek and rehabilitate the north and southbound bridges over Route T is led by contractors from Capital Paving and Construction, LLC., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation

Crews completed the Route T Bridge rehabs and southbound Hopkins Creek Bridge replacement late last year.

Beginning Monday, March 22 crews plan to begin the replacement of the northbound Hopkins Creek Bridge as crossovers will once again be utilized to direct traffic head-to-head in the southbound lanes.

Construction will then begin on the replacement of the northbound I-29 bridge over Hopkins Creek.

By September, MoDOT says work on the northbound Hopkins Creek Bridge will be complete, median crossovers removed, and shoulder work completed.

Intermittent lane closures are possible.

All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change.
