Crash Leaves Cameron Woman With Injuries and Charges
A Cameron woman suffered minor injuries and is now facing a handful of legal troubles after a traffic crash Monday evening south of Lathrop.
According to Troop H of the Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Cameron resident Brittany A. Hand was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty northbound on Route 33 about four miles south of Lathrop at 5:14 P.M. Monday when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway.
The accident report says Hand overcorrected sending the vehicle off the left side of the roadway where it then struck an embankment and came to rest on its wheels.
Hand was wearing a seat belt but still suffered minor injuries. She was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment by Holt Fire and Rescue.
The Patrol says they arrested Hand on charges of driving while intoxicated via drugs, possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, failing to display valid plates and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. She was released to receive treatment for her injuries.
