Crash Near Hamilton Seriously Injures Two Drivers

CALDWELL COUNTY, MO – A three-vehicle crash on US 36 near Hamilton resulted in two of the drivers being hospitalized with serious injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred two miles west of Hamilton just after 2 pm Tuesday as 71-year-old Hamilton resident Michael Schieber failed to yield as he entered the highway from the crossover. Schieber’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of a car operated by 66-year-old Phillip Payne of Champaign, Illinois. A tractor-trailer headed west was able to avoid a collision but ended up off the roadway.
Schieber and Payne were taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center.
