Creston Resident Killed in Saturday Evening Crash

UNION COUNTY, IOWA – A Creston resident died from injuries resulting from an accident in Creston Saturday evening.

The Iowa State Patrol has neither identified the fatality victim nor the other victim. The Patrol did state the other victim has a residence in Ames.

The Patrol reports a car was heading southbound on Highway 25 and Sumner Avenue at a high rate of speed. The operator of the vehicle lost control near the intersection of Sumner and Howard. The car left the roadway, struck a parked vehicle and then struck the front of two houses on the side of the roadway. The vehicle came to rest on it top. The injured party was flown to a Des Moines hospital.

The accident took place just before 9:45 Saturday evening.

The Creston Police Department assisted the Highway Patrol.
