Daviess County is now considered a “hot spot” in the state of Missouri due to the positivity rate of COVID-19. The Daviess County Health Department has seen a surge in COVID-19 cases with 10 new cases in 1 week. One of those cases is seen as a breakthrough case.
A breakthrough case is defined as a person who tests positive for COVID-19 following their 14 days fully vaccinated date. The health department officials say that breakthrough cases are expected. Residents are still urged to protect themselves and those around them regardless of vaccination status by washing hands frequently, attempting to stay 6ft away from those in different households or wearing a mask if possible.
