Daviess County Route AA To Close For Resurfacing Project On Friday

A resurfacing project is scheduled to begin this week on four routes across Daviess, Gentry, Harrison and Worth counties.

On Thursday contractors from Herzog Contracting and Mo-Dot will mill off portions of Daviess County Route AA, Gentry/Harrison County Route ZZ, Harrison County Route EE and Gentry/Worth County Route N to prepare the roads for resurfacing.

Milling will be done under a single-lane closure with flaggers directing motorists through the work zone.

Beginning Friday, Daviess Route AA will close in two-mile increments for an asphalt overlay. Crews will begin at Route Z and work north to Route T near McFall.

Daily closures on Route AA are expected to continue through Tuesday, November 8.

Crews plan to work daylight hours, Monday through Saturday. Motorists will need to use an alternate route during the daily closures.

Following the completion of Route AA, three more routes in this bundle of resurfacing projects are expected to close, also in two-mile increments.

November 9 through 15 will be Route ZZ, starting at Gentry County Route T in McFall and moving north to Harrison County U.S. Route 136 at New Hampton.

November 16 through 22 crews will work in Harrison County on Route EE starting at Route M and working south to U.S. Route 136 at New Hampton.

The final resurfacing will be November 23 through 30 on Route N, starting from Route M in Worth County to U.S. Route 136 in Gentry County.

Following the asphalt work, crews will place rock on the shoulders and stripe these four routes, before they pause work on the project for the winter.

All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
