Delayed U.S. Route 59 Resurfacing Project Gets New Start Date

A new start date is set for the delayed U.S. route 59 resurfacing project.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says crews plan to resurface just over 13 miles of U.S. Route 59 from Route 752 in Saint Joseph to just north of Route 45.

MO-DOT says crews plan to patch on the edges and in the center of the roadway beginning Tuesday, October 15.

Crews will then move to milling and overlaying the entire route within project limits.

MO-DOT says work will be done during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday.

Some work may also be done on Sundays to complete the project on schedule.

Crews hope to have all work completed by early November.

A pilot car will be used to guide vehicles through the work zone during this time.

All work is weather permitting and is subject to change.
