Des Moines Man Injured & Charged in Gentry County Motorcycle Crash Saturday
A Des Moines, Iowa, man suffered injuries and faces charges in a Saturday evening motorcycle crash in Gentry County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred around 7:30 Saturday night on U.S. 169, four miles south of Stanberry, as 54-year-old David A. Bartholomew drove a Harley Davidson northbound.
Troopers say Bartholomew crossed the center line, began skidding, and overturned.
Bartholomew suffered serious injuries and sought treatment at Mosaic in Saint Joseph.
Authorities say Bartholomew did not wear safety gear at the time of the crash.
Following the accident, troopers arrested Bartholomew on preliminary charges of felony driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, and careless and imprudent driving involving a crash.
