Driver Seriously Injured In Accident South of Maryville

A Shawnee, Kansas driver was seriously injured following a one-vehicle accident south of Maryville early Wednesday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 29 year old Eboni Garrett was driving nortbound on U.S. 71 Highway, 5 miles south of Maryville, and went off the side of the roadway with the vehicle. The car eventually struck an embankment, went airborne, and overturned. The vehicle landed on its top in a field.
The driver was taken to Mosaic Hospital in Maryville. The Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department and the Maryville Department of Public Safety assisted the Highway Patrol.
The accident took place just after 2:10 Wednesday morning.
