Early Morning Deer vs Motorcycle Accident Leaves One With Injuries

A Nodaway County motorcycle rider escaped a collision with a deer with just minor injuries early this (Tuesday) morning.

According tot he accident report from Troop H of the Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Elmo resident PJ D. Porter was driving a 2017 Harley davidson Roadglide eastbound on Nodaway County Route JJ five miles west of Hopkins at 5:55 A.M. when a deer entered the roadway from the south.

Porter slowed the motorcycle but still struck the deer and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Porter was reportedly wearing proper safety equipment but still suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene of the accident.
