Effort Rolled Out to Legalize Recreational Marijuana in Missouri

(Missourinet) An effort has been rolled out to legalize the use of recreational marijuana among Missouri adults 21 and older. A group called Legal Missouri 2022 is gathering signatures across the state to try and ask voters whether to legalize cannabis. Campaign Manager John Payne says if the measure passes, it would automatically provide a clean slate for Missourians previously convicted of low-level, nonviolent marijuana offenses…

The provision does not apply to sales to minors or operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana. To get the question on next year’s ballot, the group must gather about 170-thousand valid signatures by May 8.
