Excelsior Springs Man Among Three Hurt in Two Car Accident
An Excelsior Springs man was one of three people left with minor injuries in a two car crash near Holt Thursday afternoon.
Troop H of the Highway Patrol says a 2009 Toyota Corolla being driven by a 17-year-old Excelsior Springs girl was northbound and stopped in traffic on U.S. Highway 69 looking to turn onto Route PP. When that driver attempted to make the left turn she turned into the path of a 2009 Kia Sorento being driven southbound by 36-year-old Independence resident Carrie L. Range, causing the Kia to strike the Toyota in the passenger side.
After impact the Toyota began sliding and traveled off the west side of the roadway where it came to rest in a ditch facing southeast.
According to the accident report everyone involved was wearing a seat belt at the time but three individuals in the Kia, Range and passengers 61-year-old Michelle D. Anderson of Independence and 68-year-old Steven L. Slater of Excelsior Springs, were left with minor injuries. All three were transported to Liberty Hospital for treatment.
