Excelsior Springs Man Fatally Shot in Price Chopper Parking Lot Identified

Kansas City Police have identified the Excelsior Springs man found shot to death in a grocery store parking lot near Liberty.

Authorities say the victim is 21-year-old Trinton Phillips.

Phillips died from a fatal gunshot wound suffered in the parking lot of Cosentino’s Prince Chopper around 1:15 Monday afternoon.

Police believe a white man left the scene in a dark-colored sedan.

Reports say police believe this was an attempted robbery that turned fatal.
