Excelsior Springs Man Hurt and Arrested After Early Sunday Wreck

An Excelsior Springs man was left with minor injuries and some legal headaches following a one-vehicle accident early Sunday in Clay County.

Troop A of the Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Cole S. Norman was driving a 2015 Toyota Scion northbound on U.S. 69 Highway in Clay County at 4:37 A.M. when his vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Norman was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time but still suffered minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol arrested Norman for driving while intoxicated and cited him for a lane violation. They released him to Liberty Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
