Excelsior Springs Man Hurt In Motorcycle Accident Wednesday Evening

An Excelsior Springs man was left with moderate injuries after losing control of his motorcycle Wednesday evening on Interstate 35.

According to the accident report from Troop A of the Highway Patrol, 38-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Scott N. Jeffers was operating a 2003 Yamaha R1 motorcycle southbound on I-35 at the 17 mile-marker in Clay County at 6:10 P.M. Wednesday when he lost control of the bike.

The motorcycle traveled off the left side of the interstate where it struck an embankment and ejected Jeffers.

Jeffers was wearing proper safety equipment but still suffered moderate injuries. He was taken by Liberty Fire to Liberty Hospital for treatment.
