Excelsior Springs Man Seriously Injured In Sunday Motorcycle Accident

An Excelsior Springs man was left with serious injuries following a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon in Ray County.
According to the accident report filed by the Highway Patrol, 78-year-old Excelsior Springs resident Kenneth E. Elliott was operating a 2005 Honda motorcycle on Highway A west of Christian Road in Ray County at 2:11 P.M. Sunday when the bike left the right side of the roadway.
Once off road the motorcycle struck a Mo-Dot sign and overturned, ejecting Elliott. Both the motorcycle and Elliott came to rest in a grassy area off the right side of the highway.
Elliott was reportedly wearing proper safety equipment at the time of the accident but still suffered serious injuries. He was taken by Life Flight Eagle to Truman medical Center for treatment.
