Excelsior Springs Woman Injured in Rollover Accident Wednesday in Ray County

An Excelsior Springs woman was injured in a Wednesday morning accident in Ray County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on O Highway, west of 128th Street, when a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Carole K. Sportsman was heading northbound.

Troopers say Sportsman lost control, went off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and a mailbox, rolled once, and came to a rest on the passenger’s side of the vehicle.

Sportsman was taken to Excelsior Springs Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Authorities say Sportsman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
