Extreme Heat Stressing Missouri’s Power Grid

As Missouri’s wave of extremely hot and humid temperatures continues, Missouri’s Public Service Commission reminds residents that rolling blackouts are not expected.
But that power grid is struggling with everyone’s A/C unit running, according to Chair Scott Rupp.
He says modern technology and a diversified power grid is why he’s not concerned. Some utilities are encouraging their customers to conserve energy amidst this heatwave.
