Extreme Heat Stressing Missouri’s Power Grid

The extreme heatwave of high temperatures and humidity is stretching Missouri’s power grid to the max, according to Scott Rupp, Chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission.

He’s not anticipating rolling blackouts or brownouts because the power grid has strengthened with new technology and is diversified, rather than depending on one source for electricity.

Rupp goes onto say that conserving energy is not necessary now, but it could be in the future.
