Farm Machine Gets Wedged Under Chillicothe Bridge

A piece of farm machinery disrupted traffic in Chillicothe Thursday for nearly two hours after being stuck under a bridge.

According to information from the Chillicothe Police their office was notified at 3:26 P.M. Thursday that a piece of farm machinery that was eastbound on U.S. 36 had become wedged under the railroad overpass at Mitchell Road.

Officers on the scene say there were no injuries in the accident and it does not appear that extensive damage was done to the overpass, but the railroad company was notified of the incident and will be checking the structural integrity of the bridge.

Police say eastbound U.S. 36 traffic was rerouted for nearly two hours before regular traffic was restored.
