Few Details Released on July 10 Drowning

Troop H of the Missouri State Highway Patrol has released some details of the drowning that claimed the life of a 17-year-old Jamesport resident late Monday.

According to the incident report, the 17-year-old male was walking across the Thomspon River at Southwest Beech Lane at 11:08 P.M. Monday when he fell into a deep hole, went under water, and never resurfaced.

The individual was recovered at about 1:40 A.M. Tuesday by the Grundy County Volunteer Fire Department and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:16 A.M. by Grundy County Coroner Dewayne Slater.

The juvenile’s name has not been released.
