First Woman of Color Chosen to Serve on Missouri Supreme Court

The next Missouri Supreme Court judge is a trailblazer. Governor Parson has chosen Missouri Court of Appeals Judge Robin Ransom to serve on the high court. Ransom becomes the first woman of color to serve on Missouri’s Supreme Court.

Parson appointed Ransom to serve on the Eastern District Court of Appeals in 2019. Before serving there, then-Governor Matt Blunt appointed Judge Ransom in 2008 as a Circuit Judge in St. Louis. She has also served as a Family Court Commissioner in St. Louis, in the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office as well as the St. Louis County Public Defender’s Office.
