Five Hospitalized Following Crash South of St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, MO – Five people were taken to the hospital as a result of a three vehicle crash on Interstate 29, south of St. Joseph around 12:30 Friday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred as a vehicle driven by a Minnesota driver failed to stop for slowing traffic and struck the back of a vehicle operated by a Nebraska driver, pushing that vehicle into the third vehicle driven by another Nebraska driver.

All vehicles came to rest on their wheels. Two occupants in the middle vehicle, ages 70 and 72, were taken to Mosaic with serious injuries. The three other individuals sustained moderate injuries.
