Forest City Man Hurt In Accident; Arrested For DWI

A Forest City man ended his Halloween night with a totaled car, minor injuries and a driving while intoxicated charge after a one-vehicle accident at 10:20 Sunday night in Holt County.

Troop H of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 39-year-old Forest City resident Jason J. Hoffman was driving a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta eastbound on U.S. Highway 59 at Raintree Drive about one and a half miles east of Oregon. That’s when Troopers say his vehicle went off the south side of the highway and struck an embankment, overturned and came to rest on its top.

Hoffman was wearing a seat belt but still suffered minor injuries. He was arrested by the Highway Patrol on a charge of driving while intoxicated but was released for medical treatment and taken by Atchison-Hoolt MEs to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
