Gallatin Man Facing Additional Felony Charges

DAVIESS COUNTY, MO- A Gallatin man jailed earlier this fall on allegations of child sex crimes is facing additional charges in Daviess County.

Fifty-six-year-old Scott Marriott was arrested in late October on allegations of crimes against a child after a confidential victim came forward with allegations against him that she said took place in 2014 when she was 9 years old.

On Friday an additional criminal complaint was filed with twenty-four felony charges and one misdemeanor in which he is alleged to have sexually assaulted a minor child several times from 2021 to the date of his arrest in October of this year.

An affidavit issued by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says the child made the disclosures in an interview at the Child Advocacy Center. On the new charges, the maximum penalty Marriott faces is four life sentences plus 499 years in prison.

Marriott remains incarcerated in the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail. Bond has been denied.
