Gallatin Woman Injured in Sunday Morning Accident Involving a Deer

A Gallatin woman was injured in a Sunday morning accident involving a deer in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on Route V, six miles south of Jamesport, when a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Dariyn R. Pettit was heading eastbound.

Troopers say Pettit swerved to miss a deer in the road, overcorrected, and went off the south side of Route V.

Pettit suffered minor injuries and was Lifeflighted to Truman Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Troopers say Pettit was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
