Garland Nelson Murder Trial Delayed Until 2023

At a hearing Monday a defense motion for a continuance in the murder trial of Garland nelson was granted, pushing the trial into 2023.

At the hearing Johnson County Judge R. Michael Wagner granted the defense motion for a continuance and set trial for three weeks beginning February 6, 2023. The trial had been set to begin in June of this year.

Nelson is accused of killing two brothers from Wisconsin, Justin and Nicholas Diemel, in the summer of 2019. The brothers had been involved in a cattle deal with Nelson.

Another motion hearing in the case is set for March 21 at 1 P.M.
