Gas Line Project Underway For City of Bethany

The City of Bethany’s annual gas line project is being started this week and will include areas of 22nd and 23rd street around Newburn, Monson, and Miller. The announcement came during Bethany’s City Council meeting on Monday night. The work will last a few weeks, and while the work is near the South Harrison Elementary School, the work should not affect the after-school pick-up traffic.

The council briefly discussed their street paving project. The street work originally planned for this year has been moved back to 2023.

The last of the funds left from the American Rescue Plan to the City of Bethany have been approved for Bethany’s Police Department. The funding will be used for a new radio system.

Bethany City Council members received an update on the work being done for the snack stand located at the Babe Adams Ballpark. The project is expected to be done by the end of the month.

Demolition of the old Financial Realty Building on the east side of the square will begin during the first two weeks of November.

Council members approved a street cut request made on 30th street from Ag Power.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to Shana Burrows and Lauren Eivins Garcia for their work in organizing the 2022 Bethany Fall Festival.
