GEC Community Foundation Announces Grant Recipients

GEC Community Foundation has approved new grant awards for the quarter.

The grants are funded by the voluntary Operation Round-Up programs that allow GEC members and customers of the Public Water Supply District Number 1 of Grundy County to “round up” their utility bills to the next even dollar with money raised distributed to assist local community projects.

This quarter’s grant awards were approved for the Ridgeway school for lab supplies, the Princeton school for a web cam, microphone, textbooks, and software, North Harrison for writing materials, Cainsville school for sewing machines, South Harrison and Gilman City for STEM tools, Mercer for books, Newtown-Harris to purchase decodable readers, the Spickard school for phonics spelling kits, the Laredo and Grundy County schools for chromebooks, the Trenton school for playground equipment, and the Wayne School to purchase a portable PA system.

The GEC Community Foundation has distributed nearly $431,000 in grant funding to schools and organizations since 2005.

The next grant application deadline is January 4th.
