GEC Community Foundation Awards Education Grants

Trustees of the GEC Community Foundation have announced the awards for the quarterly grant cycle. Grants are awarded each quarter by the foundation for education grants that are chosen from applications submitted from area schools.

The schools awarded grants included two grants of just over $800 to Ridgeway for document cameras and STEM supplies, a little over $800 to Cainsville for a laptop, $900 to North Harrison for judging materials, a little over $800 to South Harrison for an audiometer, $600 to Trenton Middle School for STEM Tools, $1,000 to Grundy County for an audiometer, $301 to Newtown Harris for a listening center, $225 to North Daviess for ready-to-read books, and a little over $350 to Wayne Community Schools for scientific calculators.

The grant awards are funded through the Operation Round Up programs that finances the awards with money raised when members voluntarily round up their utility bills each month to fund grants to eligible entities.

The next grant application cycle deadline is July 1st. Information about the program can be found at www.grundyec.com.
