GEC Foundation Announces Grant Awards

16 grants were awarded to area schools in this cycle of grant awards from the GEC Community Foundation, Incorporated.

The 16 grants amounted to $8,384 and went to area schools. Those schools receiving grants included the South Harrison Elementary and High Schools, North Harrison School, the Mercer, Gilman City, and Wayne schools, Trenton High School, SM Rissler Elementary School in Trenton, and the Pleasant View R-VI School District.

The GEC Community Foundation has now awarded more than $505,000 through the Round-Up Program since 2005.

The Operation Round-Up Program allows GEC members and customers of the Public Water Supply District Number 1 of Grundy County to voluntarily “round up” their utility bill to the next even dollar. The PWSD Round-Up funds are disbursed solely to projects located in Grundy County. For an average of $6 per year, participating GEC members and PWSD #1 customers assist in funding local community projects.

The next grant application deadline is April 1, 2024.
