Governor Signs Order Extending Mo Complete Count Deadline

Missouri Governor Mike Parson has signed an an order extending the establishment of the Missouri 2020 Complete Count Committee.

Due to COVID1-9, the U.S. Census Bureau extended the deadline to respond to the 2020 Census from July 31st to October 31st. In turn, Governor Parson announced an Executive Order requiring Missouri’s Complete Count Committee to complete its work and submit a final report by August 1st. With the extension, the deadline for the committee has now been extended to November 30th.

The Missouri 2020 Complete Count Committee was created to heighten participation and awareness for the 2020 Census and coordinate messaging and community outreach in hard-to-count areas of Missouri.

An accurate count is considered important because the number of the count determines the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and will be used to distribute billions in federal funding to states and local communities.
