Governor’s I-70 Expansion Plans Could Be In Limbo

(MISSOURINET) – It’s back to the state budget this week. The Missouri House is expected to debate the estimated 51-billion-dollar plan. House Committee Chair Cody Smith has stripped out the governor’s I-70 expansion request because Smith says he wants the conversation to wait until lawmakers review a funding bill about large building projects. Morgan Mundell, with a group called Missourians for Transportation Investment, supports efforts to expand I-70 to six total lanes.

Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Lincoln Hough (huff) wants to expand I-70 statewide to six total lanes by using the funding the governor has requested and then borrowing the rest of the money to finish the project.
