Grundy County Prosecutor’s Office Selected State Grant With Federal Funding
The Grundy County Prosecutor’s Office is one of 15 organizations to be selected for federal funding for support investigation and prosecution of child sex crimes.
The funding is part of $980,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding and managed by the Missouri Department of Social Services, State Technical Assistance Team. The funding was approved by the Missouri Legislature and Governor to create grants to county prosecutors and law enforcement agencies who experience a high percentage of child sexual abuse investigations.
In this grant application cycle, a total of 22 agencies submitted proposals for the federal funding. The STAT team worked with the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services to review the proposals. The project proposals ranged from child sexual abuse training, dedicated child sexual abuse law enforcement investigators and prosecutors, and specialized equipment.
