Hamilton Man Accused of Murder has Case Held Over in Court

A man from Hamilton appeared in a Caldwell County Courtroom on Wednesday charged with 2nd-degree murder.

Thirty-seven-year-old Frank Randell Allen Bostic was arrested after being stopped by a Daviess County Deputy for a lane violation on October 25th with an injured Samantha Jo Hovey in the vehicle. Bostic had allegedly assaulted the woman at home and drove away with her. According to a probable cause statement from Hamilton Police Chief, April Mellte, Bostic had scratch marks on his hands and chest with blood on his watch and sweatshirt. Hovey was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph in critical condition covered in blood and with swelling on the left side of her face. Hovey died two days later from her injuries and Bostic was charged with domestic assault and 2nd-degree murder.

Bostic is expected to appear before Judge Brent Elliott in Caldwell County on January 12, 2021.
