Hamilton Man Charged in Ray County Crash Monday
Troopers report a Hamilton man faces charges after a Ray County crash Monday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on State Highway 10, at Business 10, as 53-year-old Hamilton resident Matthew H. Hughes drove southbound.
Authorities say Hughes ran a stop sign and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by 21-year-old Dewitt resident Riley G. Audsley.
Audsley and a passenger in Hughes’ vehicle, 54-year-old Richmond resident Terry M. Keenan, suffered minor injuries and sought treatment at Ray County Memorial Hospital.
Troopers say only Audsley wore a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Following the accident, authorities arrested Hughes on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated, not wearing a seat belt, and failure to stop at a stop sign.
