Harrison County Attracting Deer Hunters From All Over The Country

Harrison County continues to be a deer hunting destination for hunters from around the country. Josh Roller with the Missouri Department of Conservation says 36 states were represented as participants in the opening weekend of deer hunting in Harrison County.

After the second weekend of the regular firearms deer season, only 4 states have not been represented by hunters participating in deer hunting in Harrison County.

The November regular firearms deer season continues through Tuesday. Telecheck numbers Sunday evening showed over 2,000 deer have been harvested in Harrison County for the season. There have been over 182 thousand deer harvested statewide. Just over 199 thousand deer were harvested in the state last year.
