Two Harrison County residents have died after contracting COVID-19, according to the Harrison County Health Department. That brings the total number of deaths in the county to 20.
In the report released Friday, the Health Department reports 1,204 total cases with 977 confirmed and 227 probable. There are 15 active cases. Thirty-four of the cases are considered break through, in fully vaccinated individuals who became infected.
Cases in the last 14 days are primarily in individuals age 20 to 29, with 8 cases; followed by 7 cases in those aged 50 to 59. Individuals under 19 accounted for 5 cases.
Harrison County reports that 27.2 percent of the population has initiated vaccination with 24.1 percent completing the vaccine.
