Hawley Says Biden And MOHELA Are Both To Blame In Late Student Loan Billing

(Missourinet) The organization that services student loans in Missouri is being punished by the Biden Administration for delays in sending out billing statements.

The U-S Department of Education is withholding 7-point-2 million dollars from MOHELA, saying the organization did not send billing statements to 2-and-a-half million borrowers in a timely manner, resulting in more than 800-thousand people missing their payment deadlines.

U-S Senator Josh Hawley says the Biden Administration should not hold borrowers in Missouri responsible.

But Hawley also tells Missourinet that MOHELA not sending out billing statements on time “doesn’t look good,” and that he doesn’t have any sympathy for either side.
