Josh Hawley, R-Mo., questions Attorney General nominee William Barr during a Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington. Hawley is facing conservative backlash after raising concerns with President Donald Trump’s nominee to a high-profile appeals court. The Judicial Crisis Network on Monday announced plans to spend $500,000 on Missouri ads to sway Hawley to support D.C.-area U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Neomi Rao. (Missourinet) Missouri U.S. Senator Josh Hawley says he fears the U-S may already be “on the warpath” with China.
He told reporters that we as a nation are not yet where we need to be to deter the Communist country from invading Taiwan.
Hawley is sponsoring legislation that would impose a 25 percent across-the-board tariff on Chinese imports, which he says would remain in place until the U-S trade deficit with China is down to zero.
