The state health director says the White House describes Missouri’s plan for administering the impending COVID vaccine as a model one.

State Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) Director Dr. Randall Williams says the Missouri plan’s hallmark is collaboration and coordination.

Missouri’s plan is based upon CDC’s anticipation of a phased availability of vaccines within the state. Dr. Williams says Missouri will collaborate with health care systems and pharmacy partners to vaccinate long-term care facility staff and the state’s other 425-thousand health care workers first.
