Holt County Route B Closure Start Thursday

The bridge deck replacement project that will close the bridge over Interstate 29 on Holt County Route B will be getting started a few days earlier than previously announced.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced crews from Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. began shoulder repairs on I-29 under the Route B bridge last week to prepare for traffic shifts that will happen as part of the deck removal and replacement.

On Thursday, April 15, following the shoulder work, the contractor will close the bridge on Route B to all traffic, a move that wasn’t expected until Monday, April 19. The closure is expected to continue through July 2021.

Throughout both the shoulder work and the bridge deck replacement, one lane of I-29 may be closed in each direction with a 12-foot width restriction. Motorists will be directed over a signed detour on U.S. Route 59 and Route 120. Delays should be expected in this area.

All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change.
