Anyone who uses I-229 during their morning commute will have to find a new route next week as Mo-Dot Plans to close the double-decker bridge on the interstate in St. Joseph.
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, August 24, Mo-Dot crews will close the I-229 double-decker bridge for routine bridge maintenance. For the safety of both motorists and crews, the bridge and all ramps will remain closed between U.S. Route 36 and Highland Avenue through the afternoon of Thursday, August 20.
These will be around-the-clock closures.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
