I-229 Double-Decker Bridge Open Again

The Interstate 229 double-decker bridge in St. Joseph is open once again, including all on and off ramps.

Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation completed emergency and regularly scheduled maintenance work today (Friday).

The northbound lanes of I-229 between the Edmond and Francis Street ramps had been closed since Friday, July 28 due to a pavement blow up. In an effort to reduce the overall closure time of the bridge, crews moved forward the yearly bridge closure for maintenance which closed I-229 from Highland Avenue to U.S. Route 36 on Monday, August 7.
