The identity of the child killed in an accident at Adventureland on Saturday has been released. Eleven-year old Michael Jaramillo died Sunday from injuries inflicted when the Raging River raft overturned. Michael’s 16-year old brother, who was also on the ride, is reported to be in critical condition. Two others suffered minor injuries.
Six individuals were on the ride around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening when the raft overturned. Emergency responders and park patrons helped free the riders. The ride remains closed as park officials are working with state and local authorities to investigate the cause of the accident.
The Raging River ride has been in operation since 1983. A park employee also died while while helping rider’s get off the ride in 2016.
