Illinois Semi Driver Left With Minor Injuries In Sunday I-29 Crash

A Sunday afternoon tractor trailer crash near St. Joseph left an Illinois man with minor injuries.

Troop H of the Highway Patrol says 47-year-old Woodridge, Illinois reigned Seung I. Choi was driving a 2023 Freightliner southbound on Interstate 29 about four miles south of St. Joseph at 3:13 P.M. Sunday when the semi went off the east side of the interstate and struck a guard cable.

The truck then crossed the median and began traveling southbound in the northbound lanes before going off the east side of the roadway and striking a guard rail. The semi then overturned and came to rest on its side facing south.

Choi was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time but still suffered minor injuries. He was taken by Buchanan County Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
