Illinois Woman Seriously Injured in Buchanan County Crash Wednesday

An Illinois woman was seriously injured in a Buchanan County crash Wednesday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on I-29, two miles north of Faucett, when a vehicle driven by 56-year-old Glen Carbon, Illinois resident Alicia D. Halpin was heading northbound.

Troopers say Halpin entered a construction zone, struck an arrow sign, and struck a parked pickup truck.

Halpin’s vehicle would then travel off the east side of the road, striking a guardrail, coming back onto the road, heading off the west side of the road, and striking a median cable.

Halpin suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mosaic Hospital for treatment.

Troopers say she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
