Initial MU Report Projects Slight Increase In Gross Farm Income For 2022

The first report to come from the University of Missouri’s new Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center projects gross farm income for Missouri farmers to increase slightly for 2022. Assistant research professor John Kruse is the lead analyst for the report issued jointly with the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute.

However, Kruse said rising input costs at the beginning of the year, now exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, are causing even more sticker shock.

The Missouri Farm Income Outlook is the first of a series of reports that the Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center will release, as its team of researchers develop forecasting models for states with a significant ag presence.
