Inmate Death Reported at St. Joseph Correctional Center

An inmate death occurred at Saint Joseph’s Western Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center this week.
Reports say the Missouri Department of Corrections confirmed the death of 39-year-old Matthew Schwarz from Tuesday night.
The cause of death is unknown.
Records allege Schwarz was serving 23 total years, across four different sentences, from Lafayette and Ray Counties.
The Missouri Department of Corrections entered Schwarz into their system in May 2006.
